About

S

ans stands for clean design solutions inspired by analog technologies. My main area of expertise lies in analog printing and editorial & independent publishing, which I combine with manual skills such as illustration and calligraphy. Whenever possible, I make use of my special skillset to create designs that look and feel different. I believe that the beauty of design lies in the details.

The woman behind Sans is Sandra Staub. Based in Zurich and formerly in Bogota, I work at the intersection of design, print, and illustration. My work draws inspiration from manual methods of graphic production and all things handmade. By embedding my analog skillset within a contemporary, digital context, I create my signature style. The resulting designs are characterized by a clear visual language and the raw power of analog technologies. My work celebrates the beauty of imperfection and the ephemeral.

Many of the projects I have worked on were small, independent projects. I got contacted often for jobs with limited budget in desperate need of help. And I became an expert of making the most out of it. Those are the kind of projects where I shine: Somewhat lost causes where I translate a good idea into good design.
